Launched in 2025, the Schoolgirls Super 7s Series burst onto the Queensland rugby scene as a dynamic new platform for schoolgirl athletes to showcase their talent, teamwork, and passion for the game.
In its inaugural season, six of South East Queensland’s most dedicated rugby schools went head-to-head across five thrilling tournaments, each hosted by a participating school and inspired by the global Rugby World Series format. The result was fast, competitive, and exciting rugby — with players gaining invaluable experience in a professional and supportive environment.
Building on this success, 2026 will feature two Schoolgirls Super 7s Series. The established SEQ competition will expand to eight teams, while North Queensland will launch its inaugural series.
The SEQ Series will lead to an invitation to the inaugural Santos Q7s State Cup, where its top teams will represent South East Queensland and compete against the state’s best for honours, showcasing the next generation of women’s rugby stars.
More than just a competition, the Schoolgirls Super 7s Series is a celebration of the rapid rise of girls’ rugby — providing consistent, meaningful, and high-quality playing opportunities that inspire athletes, strengthen school programs, and build lifelong connections through the game.
