In 2025, the number of 7s tournaments available will be increased.
February and March will see four (4) tournaments held as an opportunity for clubs to continue recruitment and retention of players, as well as providing an opportunity for elite 7s players to continue to push their case for World Series opportunities.
2025 will also see the continuation of the Caslick Cup competition in October and November, which provides the highest level of club 7s in Australia and brings together the best talent from QLD club rugby and performance athletes from QLD and NSW.
Recent graduates from the the Caslick Cup to the Australian Women's 7s Team include: Heidi Dennis (Easts), Mackenzie Davis (GPS), Kahli Henwood (GPS), Piper Simons (Wests) and Sidney Taylor (UQ).
A new addition to the Women's calendar in 2025, the Challenge Cup has been developed in conjunction with stakeholders across the South East to provide an opportunity to grow and develop depth in the senior women's game prior to the commencement of the Premier Women's and SEQ Women's Cup competitions.
Challenge Cup is designed to provide all clubs and players an opportunity to test their ability against various levels of competition.
Challenge Cup will run from March through May 2025 and will be structured to provide as many like for like matches as possible.
Premier Women's Rugby will see the nine (9) Queensland Premier Rugby pitted against each other for the opportunity to raise the Premier Women's trophy and help their clubs attain the converted Doughty Shield.
The SEQ Women's Cup brings together teams from across Queensland Suburban and Gold Coast in a competition that caters to players of any level.
