Downlands College delivered — and the Schoolgirls Super 7s Series didn't disappoint.

Schoolgirls Super 7s Series | Round 2 Recap

Round 2 of the Schoolgirls Super 7s Series touched down in Toowoomba on Tuesday 26th May. Hosted by Downlands College, it delivered another day of competitive, high-quality schoolgirl rugby across all three age groups.

U14s — King's Hold the Top Spot

The Glennie School and King's Christian College renewed their rivalry at the top of the U14s competition. King's again came out on top to claim first place for the second consecutive round. The battle between these two sides is shaping up as one of the defining storylines of the series.

U16s — King's Too Strong for Hosts

The U16s saw hosts Downlands College make their Cup Final debut for the series, arriving undefeated through their pool games and bringing real energy as the crowd favourite. But King's proved too strong when it mattered, taking out the U16s title convincingly for the second round in a row. A solid performance from King's that cements their standing at the top of the division.

U18s — Glennie Claim a Thriller

The U18s Cup Final was the highlight of the day, and it had everything. Glennie came out of the blocks fast, with a brace of early tries from their centre putting them in command at 12-0. A King's error late in the first half gifted Glennie a third try, sending the teams into the break firmly in control at 19-0.

King's refused to fold. They came out firing in the second half, clawing their way back into the contest and bringing the score to 19-14 with just three minutes remaining. The final minutes were tense — but Glennie steadied, securing a crucial try in the dying stages to stretch the margin to 10 points and lock in their first Cup Final win of the series.

Two players stood above the rest in the final. Glennie's centre was electric, finishing with two of her team's four tries, while King's centre was a powerhouse throughout — carrying hard and refusing to let her side give up the fight.
