Play On Sports Vouchers
QRU Advice on Play On Sports Vouchers
- Participant parents/guardians who have a Queensland Government Play On sports voucher SHOULD NOT register in Rugby Xplorer until the following process is completed.
- They should contact their club and notify them that they have a voucher and that they wish to register for a specific program at the club.
- The club will confirm that they are registered to be an activity provider to accept Play On vouchers
- Participant parents/guardians to give club the Play On voucher
- Clubs claim the Play On voucher and redeems fees from state government
- Play On vouchers are designed to help eligible families offset the cost of sport and active recreation for children aged 5 to 17. The vouchers can be used towards:
- Club membership fees
- Team or competition registration fees
- Participation fees for activities such as coaching, facility use, and events
- However, the vouchers do not cover additional discretionary saleable items
- Registration fees in Rugby Union in Queensland include the national insurance levy (NIL), state levy (QRU), association levy (AL) and club fees*. These are all eligible for inclusion as costs for the club as the activity provider.
- Play On vouchers are designed to help eligible families offset the cost of sport and active recreation for children aged 5 to 17. The vouchers can be used towards:
- Once the voucher is approved and redeemed the club will then provide a discount code to the participant to register in Rugby Xplorer.
- There are two options available (https://help.xplorer.rugby/s/article/Club-Discount-setup) :
Club Card Discount
- Redeem the voucher
- Collect all additional monies owed (Total Registration Costs – Play On Voucher amount)
- Issue Club Card Discount code to the email that they will be registering with
Club Discount (when club fee* portion is $200 or greater)
- Redeem the voucher
- Issue Club Discount code for $200 to the email that they will be registering with
If the club fee portion is less than $200 and the club does not want to use the recommended Club Card Discount option:
- As the unique code for the Club Discount option will discount the club's fees only, the participant then must pay any additional registration fees from entities other than the club remaining in Rugby Xplorer. This will mean participants will not get full eligible value from their voucher for the national insurance levy, state levy and association levy costs.
Examples
Example 1: Total Fee $440 (Club Fee - $252, AL - $105, QRU - $44, NIL - $39)
- Voucher presented and redeemed for $200
- Club issues Club Discount code for $200
- Participant registers and applies Club Discount Code paying the remaining $240 + transaction fee online through Rugby Xplorer
Example 2: Total $335 (Club Fee - $146, AL - $100, QRU - $50, NIL - $39)
- Voucher presented and redeemed for $200
- Club receives payment from participant for $135 being the balance of the total fee, plus the Transaction Fee.
- Club issues Club Card Discount code
- Participant registers and applies Club Card Discount Code in Rugby Xplorer with no further payment required
Example 3: Total $335 (Club Fee - $146, AL - $100, QRU - $50, NIL - $39)
- Voucher presented and redeemed for $146
- Club issues Club Discount code for $146
- Participant registers and applies Club Discount Code and pays the remainder $189 + transaction fee online through Rugby Xplorer
Example 4: Total $60 (Club Fee - $35, AL - $15, QRU - $0, NIL - $10)
- Voucher presented and redeemed for $60
- Club issues Club Card Discount code
- Participant registers and applies Club Card Discount Code in Rugby Xplorer with no further payment required
