In preparation for the upcoming Central Queensland (CQ) Rugby Union Muster, CQ Regional Manager Jack Lloyd has been busy ensuring the region’s young talent is ready to perform. With some practical assistance from his Ford F‑150, Lloyd supported the preparation of the under‑13 Brahmans squad as they gear up for a highly competitive showcase event.

The CQ Muster will see players test their skills against teams from Wide Bay, Emerald, Mackay and the Whitsundays. For many of these athletes, the muster represents a critical opportunity to impress selectors, with standout performers vying for inclusion in the Central Queensland Bush Rangers squads. These squads will go on to compete at the Queensland Country Championships in Townsville later this year.

Beyond player development, the CQ Muster also plays an important role in strengthening coaching pathways across the region. The event provides a valuable platform for aspiring representative coaches, many of whom will experience representative rugby coaching for the first time. Under the guidance and mentorship of more experienced coaches, these emerging leaders continue to build capability and depth within Central Queensland rugby.

Overall, the CQ Rugby Union Muster remains a cornerstone event, reinforcing clear pathways for both players and coaches while supporting the ongoing growth of the game across the region.
