Following two weeks of trials at Ballymore, the preliminary men’s and women’s training squads have been selected from which teams will be selected to represent Queensland at the 2016 National Senior Sevens Championships in Adelaide on the 19th and 20th of November.

Australian contracted sevens players are still to be considered and be brought back into either team leading up to the championships.

Bond University Queensland Country and McInnes Wilson Lawyers Brisbane City players will also be brought into the men’s squad once their National Rugby Championship (NRC) commitments are finished.

Selectors will also be in attendance at upcoming domestic sevens competitions across the state, including the Townsville Senior Sevens, and both men and women will be identified for entry into the preliminary training squads.

All teams competing at the National Championships in Adelaide will be vying for potential selection in the Australian men’s and women’s full time and development squads for the upcoming World Sevens Series.

For players selected, please email Tyrell Barker (Tyrell.Barker@redsrugby.com.au) to confirm your position in the squad.
