Bond University Queensland Country head coach Rod Seib has named his match-day 23 for their Round 6 National Rugby Championship (NRC) clash against NSW Country at Bond University Rugby Club, which will kick-off at 3:00pm on Sunday afternoon, 6 October.

From the team that secured a 42-26 win over Brisbane City in Gladstone last weekend, Seib has only made one change, with prop George Francis coming onto the bench in place of Carter Ozanne.

“We’re at the end of the season now and every game counts for us so to have some consistency in selection is a positive for the side,” said Seib.

“After tough losses on the road to Sydney and the Melbourne Rising, the team responded well last week and put in a solid performance in front of the Central Queensland crowd.

“We started the game particularly well, putting a lot of pressure on in the opening 20 minutes, we need to carry that same intensity into this week’s match against NSW Country.”

For Gold Coast Rugby fans, the squad this week features six Bond University players, with Gold Coast locals Gavin Luka, Angus Blyth, Connor Pritchard, Joey Fittock, Hamish Stewart and Dan Boardman all named in the starting XV.

“The Bond University boys have been really crucial to our campaign so far.

“Guys like Gav Luka and Connor Pritchard have forced their way into the starting line-up in the last few weeks, and Dan Boardman was a late call-up to the starting side last Saturday and was one of our best attacking threats in the wider channels.

“It will be special for them all to play in front of family and friends at home at Bond this weekend, they’re great examples of the talent that exists on the Gold Coast.”

Round 6 of the NRC will also see all teams come together in support of Rural Aid.

Rugby Australia will match dollar-for-dollar the money collected at NRC grounds on game day. You can also make a donation via this link: http://bit.ly/RuralAid2019

“Obviously as the Queensland Country team we represent all of regional Queensland and there are a lot of people who are struggling with the ongoing impact of the drought,” said Seib.

“Rural Aid is a great cause to get behind and we’re hoping to help raise much needed funds this weekend. With Rugby Australia matching the amount raised at each game this week, we’d love to see as many people as possible at our last home game for the year and making a contribution to the Rural Aid effort.”

Bond University Queensland Country’s clash against NSW Country kick’s off at 3:00pm (AEST) at Bond University Rugby Club this Sunday, 6 October. The match will be streamed LIVE via Rugby.com.au and Kayo.
