The Queensland Rugby Union has announced two teams to compete at the 2017 National U16 Championships.
The two teams – Queensland Red and Queensland White – will compete at the Championships to be held at The Southport School, Gold Coast from Sunday 24th September to Saturday 30th September.
Sides have been selected after months of talent identification and trials throughout Queensland.
Queensland Reds Elite Player Development staff invited players to sessions throughout the state, where players were taken through a variety of Rugby skill rotations.
Players from regional areas, the Gold Coast, Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast all attended their local sessions.
The Elite Development staff then sat down with Queensland U16 coaches and Reds Talent Scouts and used those trials, along with player performances at the QRFSU State Championships, Junior State Championships and Junior club and School competitions to select the two sides.
Congratulations to all players on their selection in the squad.
Selected players are to assemble at Ballymore on Sunday 10th September in the main grand stand for player medicals.
