The Sunshine Coast Rugby Union (SCRU) hosted its full competition trial round on Saturday, 28 March 2026, marking the final pre-season tune-up before the official season kick-off.
A major highlight of the day was the Under 6 and Under 7 "Get into Rugby – Tri Time" group. This entry-level format is designed specifically for children aged 6–7 years to introduce them to the game in a welcoming, low-pressure environment.
A standout moment for the Sunshine Coast Rugby community was seeing the Nambour Toads field an Under 6 team for the first time in many years, signalling a bright future for the club.
Sunshine Coast Rugby Union kicks off Round 1 of junior competition on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th of April, while Senior competitions will kick off round 1 a week prior on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th April.
