Queensland Country Rugby Barbarians
Thank you to all participants that have lodged a nomination as a player, coach, manager, or sports medic for the Queensland Country Rugby Barbarians.
The task is to pick squads of 25 players in each of the Junior team divisions.
As scheduled we will announce the initial playing squad selections on Friday 9th June 2023. Please note the following:
- The criteria for initial selection was that the player participated, or was registered to participate in their local regional championship for NQ, CQ or SQ.
- That the player nominated their availability for selection, or were nominated by a coach from their regional championship for selection.
All players that nominated will be notified of their status as selections will continue until all squads have the maximum 25 players verified. It should be noted that to be verified the player will have:
- Registered with the "QLD Country Rugby Club" in the role of Player
- Have paid the player levy of $600
Additional players who may not have met the criteria for initial selection may be included over the coming days where vacancies exist or are created through withdrawals from the players initially selected.
As players are selected they should receive a personal email confirming their selection and explaining the registration process.

The Queensland Country Barbarian Team will be the 4th team in the competition. It will play the same number of games as the other regional teams in the draw. The Queensland Country Barbarian Team will be eligible to win the tournament. Most importantly, participants in the Queensland Country Barbarian Team will be eligible for selection for the Queensland Country Rugby Union team.
