The Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) are excited to welcome StoreLocal to the Queensland Rugby family as the official naming rights partner of the Hospital Cup for the remainder of the 2022 season through to the end of 2024.

The Australian self-storage company, which operates nation-wide, has a commitment to local communities and is a fitting sponsor for Queensland’s premier club competition.

QRU CEO David Hanham said: “We’re proud to welcome StoreLocal into the Queensland Rugby Union family and are extremely grateful for their support of grassroots Rugby through the StoreLocal Hospital Cup.

“With over 100 years of history, the Hospital Cup is one of the proudest Club Rugby competitions in the world, and StoreLocal’s support of the competition will help it continue to thrive and play a pivotal role within Queensland and Australian Rugby.

“We’re looking forward to working with Hans and the StoreLocal team and are pleased to be able amplify the StoreLocal brand through our broadcast partner Stan Sport and the Nine network over the next three years.”

Hans Pearson, the CEO of StoreLocal who has also been an active member of the club Rugby community in Brisbane, said: “StoreLocal is thrilled to be partnering with Queensland Rugby Union to bring to life the 2022 StoreLocal Hospital Cup.”

“We respect the deep contribution that Rugby makes to all levels of local communities across Australia. We're a nationwide business with an overriding commitment to local communities in all that we do. We see this partnership as the perfect opportunity to promote our shared passion for what it means to 'be a local'.

“The Hospital Cup is played by Rugby's local heroes at local grounds. We couldn’t be more proud to take on the naming rights for this institution of Queensland Rugby.”
