The largest Q7s qualifying tournament of the year took place at Brothers Rugby Club Sunshine Coast on Monday, 3 August 2026, featuring more than 30 teams battling for a spot in the upcoming Santos Q7s State Cup.
The high-stakes event saw fierce competition across multiple junior divisions. Elite school teams secured their passage to the prestigious State Cup, The finals will take place at Northgate on 3–4 September 2026.
St John’s College dominated the junior boy's categories, claiming championship titles in both the Under 14 and Under 16 Boys divisions. In the oldest boys' bracket, Sunshine Coast Grammar School put on a masterclass performance to capture the Under 18 Boys championship.
The girls' divisions showcased equally stellar rugby. Good Samaritan Catholic College claimed the top prize in the Under 14 Girls category, while Matthew Flinders Anglican College secured victory in the Under 16 Girls competition.
