The Charlotte Caslick Cup will return this weekend, with the Gold Coast Sevens tournament kicking off the first of three legs of competition.
Round 2 will be hosted by Wests at the Brisvegas Sevens, while the Cup will be decided at the State Sevens tournament at Easts.
The second year of the competition will see Queensland’s best Sevens talent face off, with teams from Bond University, Brothers, Easts, GPS, Sunnybank, University of Queensland, Wests, Sunshine Coast Rugby Union competing.
The University of Canberra will also field a team for the first time in all three rounds, while the Uni Rising Stars (selected from the UniSport Nationals) and Central Queensland Bushrangers will compete in the State Sevens in Round 3.
Queensland’s best male Sevens talent will compete for the Stannard Cup, held at Easts at the State Sevens.
Bond University, Brothers, Easts, GPS, Norths, Souths, University of Queensland, Wests, Central Queensland Bushrangers, Gold Coast and Districts Rugby Union will enter teams.
Easts were victorious in the Stannard Shield, while Bond University claimed victory in last year’s inaugural Caslick Cup.
