Ballymore NRTC July 2022 Update

It's been a big month for the construction of the National Rugby Training Centre (NRTC) at Ballymore with the world-class facility's major structural element now in place.

The site's leading contractors Buildcorp have installed the ground floor slab and concrete has been poured for the Level 1 slab as well allowing us to appreciate the full size of the 4000m2 building. The entrance and main foyer will be located on the ground floor, as well as a 75-seat auditorium for team meetings, press conferences and community Rugby education.

The players tunnel on the ground floor has also been installed which will see the next generation of Queensland Rugby talent run-out onto the hallowed turf of Ballymore. Upstairs will be transformed into new office space with meeting rooms and function spaces for QRU staff who will relocate from Rugby House on Butterfield Street to the $30 million facility in April next year. Scaffolding has now been erected to half of the site's perimeter hiding all the action to what's happening behind it before being taken down later this year to reveal a stunning redevelopment off the site.
