The Junior Wallabies team to face Japan has been named with Queensland Reds player, Tate McDermott coming into the starting side.

Another change in the backs is Isiah Latu who comes in on the wing, which brings Lawson Creighton to the bench.

Australia will be keen to bounce back after their first-round loss to Wales U20s, where the Junior Wallabies were left to rue some missed opportunities after they went down 21-26.

Junior Wallabies Head Coach, Jason Gilmore said: “We’ve talked about the areas we need to improve on and the team is hungry to put out a better performance in our second match of the World Championship.

“Japan will be a tough opponent and we have seen how when given the opportunity how well they can move the ball.

“The group has responded well at training and we’re looking forward to our next challenge.”
