The high-performers at Under-14s level at the Buildcorp Emerging Reds Cup have won selection for a Reds U14s development game at Ballymore Stadium on October 6.
Squads of 24 boys for Reds Gold and Reds Navy have been named to prepare for the match.
Last week’s successful ERC tournament has enabled the net to be cast wide with players identified from 10 State High Schools as well as more traditional rugby schools. Clubs from Gold Coast to Yeppoon are also represented.
The Gold team includes Villanova College’s Hugh Stanbury (best forward) while the Navy squad includes Nudgee College’s Thomas Gibb (best back) who both excelled with the top individual honours at the ERC.
Digby Ioane, nephew of the Wallaby with the same name, impressed with his elusive, strong-running at the ERC. He has been selected for the Reds U14 Navy squad.
