The Queensland Reds are delighted to announce a new partnership with Niltech Consulting in an extra boost ahead of Super Rugby Pacific Round One.

The Niltech logo will be seen across the back of the team’s playing shorts, starting with Saturday night’s blockbuster against the NSW Waratahs, as well as on the back of the Queensland Reds Super W Women’s playing shorts when their season starts against Fijiana Drua at Ballymore on Sunday March 17.

The connection with the QRU is a union of both business sense and the love of rugby that ignited within Niltech Consulting Founder and Chief Executive Nilesh Singh when growing up in Fiji. Brisbane is one of the five hubs in Australia and Malaysia for the digital transformation consulting and realisation company.

Taking technological investment to the next level and working closely with customers is a company hallmark. Niltech made big strides during the COVID years when advancing remote connectivity because of lockdowns.

Singh saw the alignment in the values of Niltech and the Reds when savouring the Season Launch Long Lunch in a function room filled with more than 500 people in February. Singh was in animated discussion during the Long Lunch with Reds prop Peni Ravai, the Fijian Test prop only to happy to talk about the homeland they share.

“Right team, right culture…we were treated with a lot of respect right from the outset,” Singh said. “The humility and cultural fit for us is very important. It feels like we’re home if that makes sense.”

It does when you understand Singh’s passion for rugby and the Fijian contribution to the game. His love of the game began at Suva Grammar, a source of so many fine Fijian sevens and Test players. It’s a joy that the company has backed in a concrete manner with sponsorship for the First XV and rugby in Suva.

“I grew up with rugby and still remember the public holiday in Fiji when Fiji won the Rugby World Cup Sevens for the first time (in 1997),” Singh enthused. “The connectiveness that the sport offers is special to me. Niltech supported rugby in Fiji and I see a positive relationship ahead with the Queensland Reds.”

Queensland Rugby Union Head of Commercial & Content Pete Fairbairn was delighted to welcome Niltech on board with the QRU.

“From the moment we started speaking with Nilesh about the opportunity to partner with Niltech, it was clear that our organisations had aligned values, with a love of Rugby at the heart of them. We’re thrilled to welcome Niltech to our outstanding partnership network.”

As well as being on the centre rump of the playing shorts, Niltech’s partnership will see them take Reds players (past and present) to Fiji for clinics and fan engagement in the second half of the year.
