Australia U18s fired a warning shot to New Zealand ahead of next week's Trans-Tasman series after thrashing Australian Schoolboys 81-5 in Canberra.

Best-on-ground Treyvon Pritchard starred for Australia U18s while midfield partner Cyrus Bloomfield and livewire halfback Chayse Geros also shone in a statement win at Viking Park.

Incredibly, Australia U18s didn't lead until the 23rd minute despite a barnstorming start from number eight Heinz Lemoto.

Australian Schoolboys opened the scoring after six minutes via hooker Cyrus Suniula, who stormed down the short side to set up James Finegan, but it was one-way traffic from there as the U18s laid on 13 unanswered tries.

Glassie Glassie struck first down the left edge before Australia U20 World Championship star Nick Conway combined with Bloomfield to put the U18s ahead midway through the first half.

U18s captain Finn Mackay was next to strike, stepping off the right foot and scoring untouched, while Pritchard's one-on-one strip and finish from close range was worth the price of admission.

A late Glassie intercept saw the U18s streak 80m downfield with Bloomfield dotting his side's fifth try for a 31-5 lead at half-time.

From there, the U18s streaked further ahead with TJ Talaileva, Isaac Fonua and star halfback Angus Grover scoring in quick succession.

Geros took full advantage of the tiring Schoolboys defence with a second-half double while Talen Risati and Brody Folkes also crossed late in the piece.

Schoolboys backrowers Oscar Cleary and Noah Rylands worked tirelessly in a well-beaten outfit, while Cameron Kirsten's defensive efforts didn't go unnoticed despite the score-line.

Attentions now turn to next week's upcoming two-game series in Canberra between Australia U18s and New Zealand Secondary Schools, which will run alongside Australian Schoolboys' two-game series with the Fijian Schoolboys.

Australia U18 81 (Geros 2, Bloomfield, Folkes, Conway, Grover, Bowman, Talaileva, Glassie, Mackay, Fonua, Pritchard, Risati tries; Mackay 5, Risati 2, Mesrtiz cons) def Australian Schoolboys 5 (Finegan try)
