The JCU Mariners have completed a perfect season storming over the Southside Crusaders 55-14 to claim the 2022 FNQ Rugby Premiership in front of a packed crowd at Barlow Park in Cairns.
Mariners scrumhalf Tom Christie starred for the home side scoring a double and slotting five conversions as JCU became the first A-Grade side since the Bowen Mudcrabs in 2015 to remain undefeated all year.
Winger Nathan Bell and fullback/assistant coach Vincent Silulu also crossed for a brace with skipper Kai Lowah named player of the Grand Final.

Brothers Townsville have booked their ticket to the TDRU Grand Final following a tight 21-20 victory over Teachers West.
After claiming the minor premiership last week, Brothers will now be eyeing the double in 2022 with victory in next month's decider.
Their thrilling one-point win denied Teachers West direct entry into an incredible third-straight Grand Final, but it's not all bad news for the Bulldogs.
They'll square off against North Ward this weekend for a spot in the decider following their 41-14 victory over Western Suburbs in the Minor Semi Final.

Proserpine Whitsunday Raiders have concluded their regular season with an 85-5 demolition of the Moranbah Bulls.
The 80-point rout saw the Raiders remain undefeated throughout 2022 as their attention now shifts to the Major Semi-Final on Saturday 27 August against Bowen at home following next week's scheduled bye.
Elsewhere, the Kuttabul Camelboks claimed a tight 45-36 away victory over Mackay Brothers at Lions Sports Park.
Camelboks reserve Faamanatu Siaki scored a double but was out-done by Brothers flyhalf Kallam Mackay who crossed for a hat-trick and converted all three.
In the round's other match, Mackay City took on the second-place Bowen Mudcrabs at Quarry Hill Rugby Union Fields and went down 58-17.
The Mudcrabs ran in ten tries with Steve Delacourt and Dave Puleiala scoring a double, as did the Redmen’s Archie Pontanes with a brace of his own.

The Maroochydore Swans have secured their spot in this year's Grand Final after holding out a fast-finishing Caloundra Lighthouses side 39-31 at the Cotton Dome.
The home side dominated for the majority of the match leading 39-10 at the 70th minute before Caloundra mounted a comeback.
Lighthouses' flyhalf Mac Burgess orchestrated the late resurgence as the visitors scored a flurry of three late tries through some sloppy Swans defence, but Maroochydore had done enough to progress through to the decider.
The Swans will now prepare to face the University of Sunshine Coast Barbarians in this Saturday's Grand Final at USC where they'll be looking to avenge their 31-19 semi-final loss to the Barbarians.
